The Final
In the Final Brazil played
perhaps their best ever football. They beat Italy 4-1, with
goals by Person, Jairzinho, Pelé and Carlos Alberto. CarIos
Alberto's goal in the final was voted the best goal of all
time by British football fans. 
The team that won Brazil their third World Cup championship
was not perfect. The defence was weak and the goalkeeper
had some very bad games. But it was most exciting and
entertaining team ever to play in a World Cup.
There were great physical problems for the players the 1970
World Cup in Mexico. Matches were played at high altitude
and during the hottest part of the day. Despite these
difficulties the 1970 World Cup was perhaps the greatest
football tournament in the history of the game.
