1982 World Cup Final
The
final between Italy and West Germany was played at the
Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid. Italy were the surprise team
of the tournament. They looked very weak team
until Rossi began scoring against Brazil.
In the
Final, Italy started badly. Two of their best players were
injured in the first half. They also missed a penalty.
But West Germany were tired after extra time against
France. When
Rossi scored in the second half they couldn't come back.
Italy went 3-0 ahead until a late consolation goal for West
Germany brought the score back to 
3-1.
Italy and Brazil were now the only countries to win the
World Cup three times.
In 2006 Italy won the World Cup for a fourth time.
